Grinlocke

Grinlocke

Age : 21

Born and raised in Oakland, California, now protecting the new city Brown Sugar City, GRINLOCKE was once a shy, quiet kid who preferred drawing and creating over being the center of attention. An artistic genius with an almost limitless imagination, he mostly kept to himself. Unfortunately, that made him an easy target. The bullying followed him throughout his childhood and became even worse in high school.

Everything changed on the night of his 18th birthday.

After being brutally attacked and beaten nearly to death by his bullies, GRINLOCKE discovered that what seemed like the worst moment of his life had actually been written into his destiny long before he was born. His ancestors had been waiting for him to turn eighteen so that he could inherit an ancient supernatural mantle.

The Hood Reaper.

Unlike traditional Grim Reapers, who arrive when a person's life has reached its end, the Hood Reaper was created for a different purpose. GRINLOCKE was sent back to protect his people, his culture, and his community from forces—human or supernatural—that threaten them.

With the mantle came control over a supernatural power known as Black Force Energy: an ancient force connected to shadows, darkness, and the collective spiritual energy of Black people both living and ancestral.

GRINLOCKE can manipulate Black Force Energy entirely with his mind. Because the power responds to his imagination, he can shape it into virtually anything he desires—massive creatures, weapons, barriers, supernatural constructs, environments, or attacks. The same imagination that once made him a gifted young artist now makes him one of the most unpredictable supernatural beings alive.

His strongest state is the Black Force Energy Transformation, where GRINLOCKE completely immerses himself in the force. In this form, the strength, scale, speed, and destructive power of every ability he possesses increases dramatically.

His glowing gold eyes and permanent supernatural gold grin serve as a constant reminder that the quiet kid from Oakland is gone.
